April 25, 2025 10:00 am - 1:00pm and May 2, 2026 10:00 am - 1:00pm

Over the course of two weeks, students learn various resist and tie dye techniques from India (Bandhani), Nigeria (Adire), Japan (Shibori) and North America (various). Instruction includes an overview of the historic origins of each techniques as well as what separates each method from the other. This course is open to beginners and those with some background and provides all students with useful and applicable creative skills that they can use to breathe new life into their own wardrobe, create handmade items for others or even take them into their own creative business endeavors. The instructor will provide three items to dye and other materials for the projects.
